Equality and diversity policy

We strongly believe that people should not face discrimination, or receive less favourable treatment, on the grounds of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation.

Policy and Guidance

We will not discriminate in any area of employment or in the provision of services to the public and accept our responsibility to comply with all relevant legislation.

Furthermore, we will actively encourage diversity, for example by making our scholarships available to a wide range of students to reflect the diversity of the population.

We will ensure that we are an organization where people feel valued, respected and included.  Harassment, exclusion and bullying will not be tolerated on any level.  All staff, volunteers and beneficiaries should feel comfortable at work and always be treated with dignity and respect.

All our staff and volunteers must adhere to and comply with this Policy and the spirit in which it is written.  They should always treat colleagues, contacts and beneficiaries with courtesy, respect and consideration.

All employees and beneficiaries will be given the help they need to attain their full potential wherever that is possible.

We will take all steps to ensure we comply with this policy and will monitor our activities and the provision of services for this purpose.

Any situation which is felt to contravene this policy, or in which an individual or group feels it is discriminated against, should be reported to one of the Trustees to investigate.

This policy will be reviewed at regular intervals and at least once each year.
